That’s the question Rashada’s homeroom teacher asks her one day at school. When she goes looking for the answer, Rashada sets off on a journey that leads to some exciting and strange adventures.

At times, she thinks she’ll never be able to decide what she wants to be. But, with the help of her family, she is introduced to some amazing new role models. Finding inspiration all around her, Rashada discovers herself and her self-worth.

But, will she be able to decide what she wants to be in time for her presentation on Monday?

• Girls and women should be encouraged to be ambitious and confident, not shamed for it
• Books that promote positive images of brave girls and children of color are valued and have strong market demand
• Stories that happen to have Black lead characters aren’t just for Black audiences
• everyone needs more Black role models
